Welcome to the Site-Specific Spectacular, a mini-festival that features performances in the most bizarre locations imaginable. In four distinct tours, more than 50 local artists will climb the heights of the Calgary Tower and explore the depths of the EPCOR CENTRE for the Performing Arts. The series concludes with Death of the Freak Show, an original play by Swallow-a-Bicycle Theatre inspired by the classic freak shows of America's scandalous past. Follow characters like Myrtle, the Four-Legged Girl, Kale "Rottentongue" Miller and Lady Lala, the Bearded Beauty, in their struggle against the tyranny of normal. "Entertaining and chilling ... The audience was held spellbound by either laughter or amazement throughout the tour." |
