Volunteer for i-ROBOT Theatre!

i-ROBOT Theatre is a massive production, and we need YOUR help to pull it off! If you’re an exuberant performer who loves crowds, check out our Street Team; and if you’re great at interacting with the public, check out the opportunities for Ushers & Front of House.

Street Team

Want free tickets to see i-ROBOT Theatre? Sign up for a minimum of three shifts on our Street Team, and we will hook you up!
To help promote the show, we are looking for some awesome performers to dress up, put on some silver body paint and have fun interacting with the public as a funky robot character!
This is a super creative and collaborative performance opportunity. Show off your skills around town at one of the biggest festivals to take place in Calgary!

7:00 – 10:00pm | Outdoor movie screening of WALL-E @ East Village River Walk
September 11
11:30am – 1:00pm | Speakerhead @ Stephen Ave
2:30 – 4:00pm | Speakerhead @ Mt. Royal University
September 12th
11:00am – 1:00pm | Opening Ceremonies @ Stampede Park
3:30 – 6:00pm | Four to Six @ Stephen Ave
6:30 – 10:00pm | Adults Only @ Telus Spark
September 13th
12:00 – 3:00pm | Built in your backyard @ Stampede Park
3:30 – 6:00pm | Four to Six @ Stephen Ave
September 14th
12:00 – 3:00pm | Maker-Faire @ ACAD
8:00 – 11:00pm | BeakerNight @ East Village, 1st Street, and Olympic Plaza
September 15th
12:00 – 3:00pm | Built in your backyard @ Stampede Park

Ushers & Front of House

We need volunteers at EVERY performance of i-ROBOT Theatre to greet patrons, sell tickets, merchandise and drinks, and generally help out around the space. If you’re great at interacting with the public and want to help the show run smoothly, please sign up for a shift at volunteers@swallowabicycle.com!
When contacting us, please specify the date(s) and time(s) that you’re available to volunteer, whether you have ProServe, and provide your telephone number. The available shifts are as follows:
September 11th: 6:30 – 11:00pm
September 12th: 6:30 – 11:00pm
September 13th: 6:30 – 11:00pm
September 14th: 6:30 – 11:00pm
September 15th: 1:00 – 5:30pm
September 17th: 6:30 – 11:00pm
September 18th: 6:30 – 11:00pm
September 19th: 6:30 – 11:00pm
September 20th: 6:30 – 11:00pm
September 21st: 1:00 – 5:30pm OR 6:30 – 11:00pm
September 22nd: 1:00 – 5:30pm
All shifts take place at Art Box on 17E (1807 42 St SE). Please dress presentably, business casual, and arrive promptly at the start of the shift.
