The Swallow-a-Workshop Series offers opportunities to exchange training, practices, and ideas between artists of various disciplines. We think of these workshops as experimental art and performance labs where you can explore curiosities among peers.
May is Asian Heritage Month – a time to reflect on and celebrate the contributions that Canadians of Asian heritage continue to make, to the growth and prosperity of Canada. In line with Asian Heritage Month, this iteration of Swallow-a-Workshops will be Asian-led with Asian-only participants.
If you would like to lead a workshop in a future edition of the series, contact Swallow-a-Bicycle Theatre at info@swallowabicycle.com!

How do I join?
Reserve your spot! Drop-ins are welcome, but pre-registration is encouraged.
We highly recommend, if you can, that you participate in both sessions of Swallow-a-Workshop Round 3. This way, you can get to know all the different approaches to training and challenge yourself in workshops that are not directly connected to your area of interest; this helps you to expand your toolkit outside of your comfort zone.
What should I bring?
Bring yourself, an open mind, water, pen and paper (or any electronic notation devices you use for accessibility), and clothes you can move in. Specific workshops may require additional materials or preparation; please watch for updates.
How much does it cost?
Swallow-a-Workshop participation is pay-what-you-can. The suggested workshop fee is $10 per session, or $15 for both sessions! However, will never turn anyone away due to lack of funds! Please contribute whatever you can afford.
Swallow-a-Bicycle Theatre is based in Mohkinstsis, the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) name for the place we now call Calgary, located in the Treaty 7 region and the traditional lands of the Blackfoot Confederacy (including the Siksika, Piikani and Kainai First Nations), the Tsuutina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including the Chiniki, Bearspaw and Wesley First Nations). The City of Calgary is also home to Métis Nation of Alberta, Region III. We are grateful to the past, present and future stewards of this land.
